| We Deliver Smiles A special event is not always enjoyed by the host. Making sure everything is perfect and your guests are happy stresses the people who should be nothing but smiles. We Deliver Smiles started in of August 2007 to assist hosts with enjoying their special events. Erica Nunn came to the South Texas Women's Business Center for assistance in identifying a potential property for her bakery. Along with her mother, the pair attended STWBC luncheons and workshops. They were also counseled by a counselor at STWBC who assisted in answering their start up business questions. The Nunn's pursuit to start their own business began when Erica realized how stressful planning for a special wedding day was, which included finding the right location, designating a videoagrapher, and searching for the perfect wedding cake. Her mother became a partner with the initial idea of opening a bakery. Together they decided to create a 'one stop shop' for weddings and special events. After six months of counseling at the South Texas Women's Business Center, Erica found the ideal spot at 5009 Walzem Road. With the grand opening August 15, 2007, the team is nearing their third month of business. She states the challenge in running the business is the not having a large staff, though they have already hired an addition person. Always busy, We Deliver Smiles is rapidly gaining fame in their community. The Nunn's involvement with their church and in the community has assisted them to promote their new business in their first months.
